Week 1: Introduction to Clay

  • Types of clay and their uses

  • Studio tools and safety

  • Preparing clay: wedging and storing

Week 2: Pinch Pot Techniques

  • Creating basic forms: bowls and cups

  • Surface textures and patterns

Week 3: Coil Building

  • Rolling coils and stacking techniques

  • Making vases and organic forms

Week 4: Slab Construction

  • Rolling, cutting, and assembling slabs

  • Making small trays or tiles

Week 5: Surface Decoration

  • Stamping, carving, and impressing

  • Introduction to underglazes and slip

Week 6: Glazing and Firing

  • Basic glazing techniques

  • Loading the kiln (overview)

  • Review and project showcase
